Quartz or Engineered stone is a man made stone, that is made with natural quartz and resins. This product is very similar to granite in its hardness, but unlike granite it never needs to be sealed because it is a non-porous material. Since Quartz doesn’t need to be sealed at all during its lifetime, it is a great product to use in your home. Quartz is available in a wide variety of color choices and styles. New quartz colors today are engineered to look exactly like granite and marble.  Current manufacturing techniques make Quartz veining look very realistic.
